International Player and Refree, Atul Pangotra (State Awardee & Sher I Kashmir Awardee) has been selected as a player in 13th South Asian Games to be held in Nepal from 1 to 10 Dec, 2019 and is the first player of UT J&K to represent UT J&K in South Asia Gmaes.
He was selected during the Selection Trials conducted in Sports Authority of India, Aurangabad under the supervision of Sports Authority of India, Indian Olympic Association and under the observation of World Taekwondo from 18 to 20 Nov, 2019 and is presently at National Coaching Camp in SAI Aurangabad.
16 players in Kyorugi Event and 17 players in Poomsae event going to take part in these Games, from all over India in Taekwondo Game.
In Last Asian Games also he was qualified as a player but due unavoidable circumstances, he has to participate as a Technical Official but this time he proved himself again and makes JK feel proud.
While talking to media Atul Pangotra told that it’s for the First time from J&K any person has been selected for this prestigious Game in taekwondo. He has assured that he is working hard to prove himself in the international Arena once again and hoped for a better result.
Atul Pangotra is working in Youth services and sports dept as a Physical education teacher. He has already represented India in more than 50 National and International Championships.
